A REASON to CELEBRATE !

Three cheers for our humble, honorable, stoic squad of Seals who have again proved the positive result of discipline, devotion and a collective daring spirit.  Another day in the history of U.S. record books ripples a response of revolution ‘round the globe.  A demonic, hell-bent Hitler-esque human, whose shadow darkened the lives and liberties of countless blessed beings, has been taken out of our misery, and victory shines on the face of justice once again.  One can only pray that the residual effect will wave a wanting of all peoples to again come together for a greater goodness; to rally and conquer even more evil that still stomps this heavenly earth;  and to celebrate a memory of what peace can look like for us all, if indeed we all want it.  And I pray, that we all do want it.     ~  KD

SOAPBOX® mini-motivation

     And so…..that fabulous Hallmark Day is again upon us.  (Yes, folks, it’s today!)  Of course, some sweethearts are readying to suprise a loved one…some are scrambling to make up for the past year of mistakes…and some are trying their damndest to forget Valentine’s of years past and get through this one, albeit as a solo artist.  It is to these fellow bachelors and bachelorettes that I dedicate this ditty.  Let it sink in and next year may find you CELEBRATING the day of hearts!

So….whatcha made of? What kind of skills have you got? When was the last time you thought about how capable you really are and forgave yourself for that which you just aren’t so hot at? It comes down to two little words: capitalize and minimize, folks. Figure out what that means and you and your DNA will have a field day taking on the rest of your life.

SOAPBOX of the week: exploration of evolution

Hey, Folks!  First off, thank you for joining me on an incredible journey as the little SOAPBOX® Queen.  This final vignette is oh-so-special, for several reasons:  it is an ode to my idol and mentor, Oprah; it is a fair adieu to the written blog format of my vignettes, whose “magic” proved that reading weekly perspective-shifting motivations indeed has lasting, profound impact on one’s life;  and it is a beaming HELLO! to  multiple new mediums for my SOAPBOX® mini-motivations and the SOAPBOX® brand at large.  So please keep coming back, tell others to plug-in, and be ready to BE INTERACTIVE…’cause Kimberlie Dykeman and SOAPBOX® may be coming to your city and knocking on your door soon!  Cheers to 2011 and cheers to the person you are about to become!

     Dive into the deep end of your imagination and whirl through the virtual ocean of your existence. Yup, grab an oxygen tank ‘cause we’re going deep, folks! And why not? I mean you must be sick of the kiddie pool, that’s filled with lukewarm experiences, overused toys, regurgitated conversations and all-too-familiar rookies who refuse to grow up? So then, are you stuck treading water in the 6’ section; right where the slant starts and you gurgle with fear that your goggles will fog up and you’ll slip up and sink into a dark abyss?

     Folks, deep is where it’s at! Where a glorious fairytale current swirls up a future as infinite as the universe. Its layers sparkle with the magnificence of your brilliant ideas… without the glass ceilings, childhood wishes of carefree pursuits…without the strict chaperones, and multidimensional conversations…without time and weather stamps nor dredged up drama. Deep is where all your senses are stimulated; where you have the power to ripple robust change and epic momentum into your life each and every day. Don’t ignore the call for “adult swim”! Leave the shallow behind for good and evolve in the subterranean!

SOAPBOX of the week: expiration celebration

     Check the bottom of your foot.  Go ahead, I’ll wait.  See anything?  A phrase in permanent ink?  Something like, “Born on…” or  “Good until…” or  “Best when used by…”  No?  No tattooed set of numbers.  Nothing, huh?  Gee, big surprise there, folks.  I think it’s safe to assume that none of us were born with an expiration date, boldly declaring our earthly duration.  And even safer to say that all of us know that our tools, toys, and trash (that stuff that really doesn’t matter!) have longer shelf lives than us.  And even if you play your proverbial cards right, boldly stated, you never know when you’re gonna go!  So, how come you carry on like Father Time is your BFF, and your Bucket List is a hodgepodge of pipedreams you’ll pursue someday just to placate your inner child? 

     People, read the title:  it’s a damn Bucket List!  And if I were you, I’d grab a big red marker and add the following: STOP sweating the small stuff, LAUNCH that business idea, VISIT distant friends and family, CASH IN those vacation days, USE the good China, LOVE that person with ALL of your heart, OPEN that bottle of wine, FORGIVE everyone, STAND UP for yourself!  The future isn’t going to fire a warning shot when “things” are getting close, so  get tangled up in TODAY, forego the judicious forecasts, and reel in real joy, peace, freedom and love.  After all, your life is BEST WHEN USED…right now!

SOAPBOX of the week: fire it up!

As little kids, that wobbly bowling ball atop our growing bodies encased a veritable sponge.  Seemingly never saturated, it sought to absorb all the info it could…so sneakers could be tied, sentences could be formed, and its “host” could participate in the game of life.  As authority figures of all types and titles traipsed into our paths, learning became a mandatory, monitored (and perhaps once-perceived endless) assignment.  Our noggins burgeoned into buckets and our teen-sized personalities flip-flopped from over-filling to rebellious dumping, well into our twenties.  And now adulthood has empowered us to choose what happens inside the real estate between our ears.  Decades of data and discipline have not only hard-wired us to handle future tides of translating, but teaching, too.  Educating yourself is an experience as magnificent and multidimensional as you want to make it.  And when the mind, body and spirit are engaged and enlightened in concert, an ignition sequence sparks a fire that has the potential to light a population’s imagination.  Trust that you are both the kindling and the bonfire and seek to strike a match for lifetimes of learning.
