“Resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” – Malachy McCourt, writer and politician Some wise person once enlightened me with the deflatingly realistic truth that people can and will let us all down. Weaved amidst the plethora of people, places and things you see, go and do, are situations that arise to tangle your plans, stomp your expectations, and defeat your hopes. In virtually every place you and someone else cross paths, that somebody has the ability to let you down. Be it with benign backfiring or malicious intent, their actions will cause nuisance and nuclear blast alike, leaving your spirit with wounds of hurt, anger, loss, and regret. Left to fester, they poison your heart and mind, while the wrong-doer simply moves on. But regardless the impact, it’s ultimately your choice -if and when- to forgive. Electing absolution allows for your healing and rebuilding with a mere memory of the mistake left to fade. Learn to let go, and you’ll learn to hold on to what matters –living a fearless life still chock full of positive plans, expectations, and hopes. Copyright 2000-2010 by Kimberlie Dykeman. “Luck is what happens when preparedness meets opportunity.” – Elmer G. Letterman, author Our whole lives this intangible, karmic concept twinkles in life’s ever-changing backdrop. An ever-present layer in the atmosphere that confetties its blessings with random affection and keeps us mesmerized like naïve children. It’s the stories of winning lottery tickets, love at first sight, and killer jog opportunities that string us along with unsquashable hope that the unpredictable sprinkles will find us someday …if we’re reeeaally good! Well, humor me, but don’t hold your breath too long, folks. Instead, try shifting your perspective to a more proactive stance with you at the helm, actually creating your own good fortune. Hey, why not think you could be that powerful of a force? After all, tenacity, smart decisions, honest efforts, integrity and goodwill tend to concoct those right-place-right-time magical scenarios from which anyone and everyone can prosper. So, if you want your own 4-leaf-clover tales to share, roll up your sleeves, peel open your eyes, and get ready for greatness…and once-in-a-lifetime blessings will most certainly land right at your feet. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” – Jesus, Book of Luke Well, it just don’t get any simpler than that, folks! The universal Golden Rule, that we’re spoon-fed from birth. It knows no race, religion or culture and has the awesome influence to create harmony, diffuse rage, jump-start conversation, instigate contemplation and self-reflection, and nurture L-O-V-E! And we know just how gooood it feels, not only when neighbor or nameless honorably applies this immutable “ethical code of life” for our benefit; but also when we do the same. Unfortunately, it’s in our unyielding, selfish pursuits of happiness, that we oftentimes morph our inalienable rights into actions of pompous privilege and entitlement…and trample innocent bystanders along the way. What about investing some overdue time and energy into the converse of this landmark law: “Do NOT do unto others as you would NOT have them do unto you.” For, with freedom and opportunity, comes responsibility. When we acknowledge the effects of our own actions and imagine ourselves on the receiving end, only then can we truly absorb the omnipotent message. Folks, we’re all mortal human beings. It’s our obligation to honor the spirit of fairness that lies at the heart of morality. Choose to consistently confetti this lifesaving truth into your own lifestyle and personality and more folks might just do the same. Confirming that you are indeed both poles of the law of attraction. Copyright 2000-2009 by Kimberlie Dykeman. SUBSCRIBE HERE! BOOK KIMBERLIE TO MOTIVATE your company! 310- 500- 9587 |
